|Meet Emily Stets - NVHR's New Program and Policy Associate
NVHR is excited to introduce Emily Stets as our new Program and Policy Associate! In this role, Emily will provide critical support to advance NVHR's programmatic and public policy goals. She brings a passion for ending the hepatitis B and C epidemics, with an emphasis on addressing harm reduction and health equity. Emily previously worked as the Youth Outreach and Education Coordinator at the Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) in Seattle, Washington. Please join us in welcoming Emily!
Hepatitis On The Hill
On March 6 - 8, 2016, advocates from around the country will be in Washington, DC for the second annual Hepatitis on the Hill. Organized by the Hepatitis Appropriations Partnership, Hep B United, and NVHR, this event brings those affected by hepatitis B and C to Capitol Hill to advocate with their Members of Congress and staff for sufficient funding and leadership to fight viral hepatitis. Join us on Monday, March 14, 2016, 1 pm Eastern for a webinar on addressing issues of hepatitis C health disparities and health equity in Indian country. Panelists will discuss a range of strategies, including the need for opioid substitution therapy and syringe access services and the concept of elimination as the ultimate goal in tribal communities.
