Design a project that is beneficial to the community!
We believe that architecture affects quality of life and thus aim to educate students to be aware of and care about the needs of both people and the environment. This month’s issue highlights this commitment. "Doggy Bag": the Public Domain and the reuse of discarded resources
The theme of the 2016-2017 Vertical Workshop will be architecture and the city of Barcelona. The aim behind it is to design an element that can be reproduced so as to carry out urban action to occupy public space, activity on the street.
We have 5 free places for high school students.

Interview with Alexandre Mistrali Betriu
Born in Barcelona in 1993, Alexandre is in fifth year at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, which he combines with a job working in the RC Architects Office. He went on Erasmus to the University for the Creative Arts, (Canterbury UCA) and he would like to share his experience with us.

Research Centre
The project is located at the end of the river Caldes axis. The building plays an important role in generating a river park with water from the industrial areas of la Llagosta filtered by the wetlands and included a programme of wetlands research.

Archiimpact: La Crit
Archiimpact, a platform created by Marta Delgado and Sergi Viñals, students from the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, hosts "La Crit", its first event about architecture´s influence on humankind, its behaviour and moods.

New online course: “Human Settlements in Emergency Situations”, in association with the Red Cross
The UIC Barcelona School of Architecture and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) will jointly teach a new online course in Spanish entitled “Human Settlements in Emergency Situations”, with the aim of professionalising the agents involved in the humanitarian aid sector.

Enrique Rovira-Beleta participates in the III International Forum on Disabilities in Higher Education
The Professor from the Postgraduate Degree in Accessibility and Design for All gave a talk entitled "The bottom line: from accessibility to architecture" at the III International Forum on Disabilities in Higher Education (FIDES 2016), organised by the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas in Tampico, Mexico.

Alfons Puigarnau participates in a Training Workshop for International Experts organised by the EQ-Arts Foundation
Alfons Puigarnau, professor of Thought at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, was invited to participate in the 6th edition of the Training Workshop for International Experts, organised by EQ-Arts Higher Education for the Arts International Quality Agency. This agency is located in Prague, in the Czech Republic.
