Finding solutions to the unintended consequences of poor policy

Jonathan Veeran and Bruce Dickenson of Webber Wentzel state that economic pressure, declining demand for certain commodities, lower prices, ever increasing costs and regulatory limbo has been brought to bear on the South African mining industry. One key area where they both believe government needs to re-evaluate its mining policy is around the issue of ownership and transformation.
