Call for Applications: Small Working Group on Regional Collaboration
Dear Americas family,
Do you think we can do more to help our region? This is your opportunity to show us what you've got!
We are opening the call for applications for being part of the SWG on Regional Collaboration. As discussed during the Regional sessions of the March Meeting 2017, we will work in four subgroups:
1- Involvement: Identify and find solutions to common regional barriers for participation. 2- Publications: Advise NMOs on how to use publications and social media to improve their local and national recognition. 3- Financial management: Create a strategy to help NMOs tackle the main problems they have related to financial management. 4- LC Development: Give ideas for recruitment and development of Local Committees.
The SWG will be coordinated by Manuel (Involvement Assistant) and Candela (Internal Development Assistant).

Call for IFMSA delegation to the 46th Session of the UN Climate Change Conference Subsidiary bodies

IFMSA is looking for delegates to the United Nations Climate Change Conference- SB 46/ SBSTA 46/ APA 1-3 which will happen on May 8th-18th 2017 in Bonn, Germany. The delegation will be composed of maximum six (6) persons, participating in at least half of the conference (8-12 and/or 13-18). This meeting will be overviewed by the IFMSA Liaison Officer for Public Health Issues 2015-2017 and the delegation approved by the Executive Board 2016-17.
Call for interim Program Coordinator of the Teaching Medical Skills Program
Program Coordinators are an invaluable asset for IFMSA in evaluating the impact of activities carried out by medical students worldwide. They work in close collaboration with each other, the Vice-President for Activities and Standing Committee International Teams. For any additional information about Programs and the position itself, please consult the application manual (here).
Are you passionate about medical education? Do you think medical students should learn more clinical skills that what they are taught in medical school? Do you have experience in project management? Then grab this opportunity and apply as Program Coordinator!

Latin American Cooperation on Maternal Health and Access to Safe Abortion [DL: April 15th]
IFMSA is thrilled to open the call for participants for LACMA 2017, as well as for one trainer!
Please find attached the call for participants, which includes a link to the folder with the regulations.
As for the trainer position, all application information can be found within the regulations.
The training will occur in English and applications must be submitted in English as well. We are aiming to provide a funded participant spot for each NMO. More information can be found in the regulations.
It is crucial that you read and understand the regulations before applying.

Barcelona Global Health Summer School: Innovation, Access, and Health
The Barcelona Global Health Summer School 2017 “Innovation, Access, and Health” that will take place from the 16th to the 21st July 2017 in Barcelona, Catalonia – Spain.
The World Health Organisation considers equitable access to effective, safe and affordable drugs, diagnostic devices and preventive tools such as vaccines as vital to the attainment of the highest possible standard of health by all, i.e.: the right to health. However, large parts of the world population do not have access to the tools that will prevent them from being ill, or progress in their diseases, or even die.
The Barcelona Global Health Summer School 2017 will gather key experts in the field toaddress the causes, contexts, and consequences of the inequitable access to medicines and what to do about it.
This course is addressed to students and young professionals studying and working in health-related fields to provide a broad understanding of the complex issue that is access to medicines, from drug development in university labs to prescribing a medicine, exploring the role of different actors, the impact of intellectual property, the need of political will and the genesis of advocacy and activist movements.
Applications meeting the required profile are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until maximum number of participants is reached. Candidates will be notified of acceptance by email. Interested candidates should apply using the online application form.
The World Congress of Mental Health of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) being held from 2 - 5 November 2017 at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi, India.
Being hosted in this region for the first time, the World Congress of Mental Health is emerging as a major event.
