CHECKING UP ON THE HALTON LEGAL HEALTH CHECK-UP PROJECTThe Legal Health Check-Up (LHC) project is an initiative by Halton Community Legal Services (HCLS) that supports partnerships between Halton’s legal clinic and community-based intermediaries as a means to identify and respond to everyday legal problems. The Legal Health Check-Up project, which was first profiled by CFCJ Senior Researcher (and Halton Communtiy Legal Services Research Consultant), Dr. Ab Currie in a blog post here, has recently seen several internal and collateral developments. CFCJ CHAIR, TREVOR FARROW, SPEAKS AT THE ORGANISATION FOR ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT (OECD)Trevor Farrow gave an access to justice presentation at OECD in Paris on 7 October 2015. Building on work of CFCJ Senior Research Fellow Ab Currie, other work of the CFCJ including its recent national costs survey, and the work of the National Action Committee, Farrow urged the OECD - through its Expert Roundtable on Access to Justice - to take a leadership role in developing a progressive and expansive notion of access to justice as an important part of its cooperative development agenda. |
