May 26th 730-830 am
Free virtual event but registration is required

Our region's demographics are changing and at an increasingly rapid pace. We'll take a broad look at what Dauphin and the surrounding area's profile looks like when it comes to immigration/ newcomers, a deeper dive on what that all means for employers and what potentially the future holds for the region when it comes to immigration and the workforce. Leading the discussion will be Deborah Slonowsky, Regional Program Manager and Steve Reynolds, Executive Director, of Regional Connections Immigrant Services.

Sponsored by Chamber Group Insurance Plan and City of Dauphin so this session is free for everyone to participate.

The session will start with 15 minutes of networking and then get into the presentation. Feel free to go about your morning routine with us on the side or be actively engaged in the conversation.

In the morning on May 20th, MLA Brad Michaleski along with some Chamber Members gathered virtually for a short roundtable Q&A. The group had the opportunity to connect with Brad on a number of topics like cellular/ broadband connectivity, tourism, Ag opportunities, post-secondary education, crown lands, and rapid testing.

Thank you to Richard Bankert for his time as Chamber President! The other day we presented him with an award in recognition of his time served as the leader of our volunteer board. Richard joined the board back in the spring of 2016, quickly assumed a leadership position on the executive committee and then took on the challenge of President for the past 2 years. Richard continues to serve on the board as our past president.

As Canada nears a major milestone in its vaccination campaign, business groups from across the country, including the Canadian and provincial and territorial chambers, have written the Prime Minister to urge him to take a leadership role in developing a clear and consistent roadmap out of lockdown.
The letter states that a clear and predictable plan for a gradual and safe return to a more normal life would instill public confidence while demonstrating concern for the physical, mental and economic health of Canadians. The letter — copies of which were sent to the premiers — is signed by the heads of more than 60 business organizations representing companies of all sizes, in all regions of the country, employing millions of Canadians.
