External Dietetic Research Prize recipient

Congratulations AdvAPD Dr Cathy Harbury, who was awarded the Bariatric Surgery Interest Group Research Prize for her presentation titled 'Will patients use an online program for the delivery of peri-operative nutrition information?', which was presented at the Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society Conference in October. Vale Richard Sager

We would like to acknowledge the recent passing of one of our members, Richard Sager, whose life was tragically lost in a motor vehicle accident on 23 October 2022. He was a long standing senior member of the Northern Territory dietetic workforce, former Board Director of Dietitians Australia, and active contributor to the work of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine Inc. The Board, Management and indeed all the membership express their deepest condolences to Richard's family.

Free Interpreting Service for Allied Health Professionals
Eligible dietitians can apply for access to the Free Interpreting Service via the Translating and Interpreting National website. Dietitians could access the program in specific LGAs from last week. See Share Plate for details and links.

Effects of AN-ACC on allied health in residential aged care
Dietitians Australia is collaborating with other Allied Health Professions Australia members to conduct a survey about the impacts of the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) on the provision of allied health services and clinical outcomes in residential aged care. The survey is anonymous and closes on Monday 7 November.
