Ben McAllister
Ben is a final year PhD Student with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS). His research focuses on the direct detection of dark matter: the unknown, invisible mass that permeates the universe.
Helen Street
Helen began her journey supporting youth wellbeing during a PhD at the University of Sheffield in 1994. Helen developed her theory of Conditional Goal Setting which explains how misunderstandings of motivation can lead to a lifelong vulnerability to depression and anxiety.
Pete Byfield
Pete was awarded Album of the Year at the 2016 WA Country Music Awards where he received a nomination for male artist of the year in 2016 and 2017. He also received a nomination for country song of the year at the WAM Awards in 2016 and a nomination for Best Regional Act at the 2017 Awards.
Zena Ibrahim
Zena has been involved in multiple areas of the community including as a member of the Access Department at UWA, advocating and representing students with chronic illness, disability and mental illness and is a speaker with BeyondBlue sharing her own personal story about mental illness.
TEDxPerth aims to be a beacon for all that is remarkable, challenging and thought-provoking in Perth, and to both celebrate and raise the intellectual ambition and culture of Western Australia.
