The 2021 Pacific Distance Carnival & Canadian 10,000m Championships is designed to bring new excitement (Think Music, Pyrotechnics, & Drummers) to long distance track racing while also offering Canadian & International Athletes an ideal environment to achieve personal best performances in the lead up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics & Paralympics. The Pacific Distance Carnival offers both Olympic and Paralympic competitions as well as opportunities for the next generation of athletes to compete alongside current and future Olympians who will compete in the National 10,000m Championships.
 
Registration is now open for the Hertz Pacific Distance Carnival

Unfortunately the event will NOT be open to spectators, but it will be broadcast live FREE by Sport Canada TV on the BC Athletics YouTube Channel.

9:00pm   Men’s 10,000m National Championships
9:40pm   Women’s 10,000m National Championships

*If there is a demand, we will add a Women's 5000m event. Please email Megann to request.

Event Details and Entry Standards

200m

Event will be limited to High Performance Athletes on the CSI-P list or have Personal Bests better than: 22.71 (M) / 25.33(W).

800m

Event will be limited to High Performance Athletes on the CSI-P list or have Personal Bests better than: 1:56.46 (M) / 2:15.00 (W).

1500m

Event will be limited to High Performance Athletes on the CSI-P list or have Personal Bests better than: 4:03.55 (M) / 4:42.70 (W).

5000m

Event will be limited to High Performance Athletes on the CSI-P list or have Personal Bests better than: 15:08.31 (M) / 17:13.09(W).  *We are happy to include a Women’s 5000m event if there is demand. Please email Megann to request.

National 10,000m Championships

Open to both Canadian and International Athletes, the 2021 Canadian 10,000m Championship Event promises to be the highlight of the night! 25 laps of burn baby burn! This is not your average 10,000m and the name of the game is SPEED. In order to facilitate the speed we are setting the entry standards accordingly. Not racing? Tune in to our FREE live broadcast and cheer on Canada’s current and future Olympians!

Men: 31:30 (5,000m Equivalent: 14:53.00)
Women: 36:00 (5,000m Equivalent: 17:03.00)

Qualifying Window: January 1, 2019 – June 13th, 2021

Open to both Canadian & International Athletes travelling in accordance with Government of Canada Travel Requirements.
