Revised Provincial Health Orders
March 16th the Provincial Health Orders were revised. The two major changes are that Adults are now allowed to gather in groups of 10 and Officials are now restricted to travel only between two clubs, plus High Performance Trials.

Officiating Within the Club Model
The BC Athletics Officials Committee invites clubs to offer training and development opportunities to their members to become BC Athletics officials through our B.C. Officials Class of 2021 program. The first two levels in the program, provided by Athletics Canada and the National Officials Committee, can be administered within the club and includes web-based training following by hands-on experience.

Paralympic Sport Development Fund

The Canadian Paralympic Committee recognizes the importance of strong sport development programming to support a sustainable sport system as well as podium performances. The Paralympic Sport Development Fund targets initiatives designed to enhance support for development initiatives in areas such as athlete recruitment, coaching, competition, daily training environments and equipment. Deadline to apply is March 29th.

To be fully trained as an Athletics Coach you require additional multi-sport modules that are currently offered online! Coaches in ALL training require Making Ethical Decisions. In addition, Performance Coach also requires Managing Conflict, Coaching and Leading Effectively, Psychology of Performance, and Leading Drug Free Sport.

2021 BC Athletics Memberships
Reminder!  Your 2021 BC Athletics membership will not be considered active until you have signed off on the “COVID-19 Questionnaire, Attestation and Participant Agreement”.  An email from Athletics Canada with the waiver is generated once your membership has been entered.  Keep your eye out for it.

BC Athletics High Performance & BC Team Fund - Donate Today!
BC Athletics provides support for athletes and coaches with the goal of strong representation and podium performances at National championships, advancing more BC athletes to National Teams, and Podium Performances at International competition. You can support the BC Athletics High Performance & BC Team Fund through a donation (Tax Receipts can be issued) to the BC Amateur Sport Fund.
