Singer killed by pyro and 30 injured in screen collapse in separate incidents

It's been a tragic and baffling week in gig safety internationally. On Sunday, young Spanish singer Joana Sainz was killed on stage at a gig northwest of Madrid when a pyro cartridge exploded and hit her in the stomach, most likely due to a manufacturing fault.  Also on Sunday, German local time, a rap gig in Essen attended by 20,000 was hit by a small but fierce storm that caused a LED screen side stage to collapse into the crowd, seriously injuring 30 people. A further 150 people were treated for shock.
