Crisis Update - PM bans all indoor gatherings over 100. Here's what you can do to help

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison today (Wednesday 18 March) announced a ban on all non-essential gatherings indoors over 100 people. Non-essential gatherings outdoors are limited to under 500.The live production industry is effectively closed for business.

In the face of this unprecedented situation, our peak bodies are lobbying government for financial relief. Yesterday, Live Performance Australia, Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), the Australian Major Performing Arts Group (AMPAG), and others met with Paul Fletcher, Federal Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts. Keep Learning - AVIXA opens online training to all


 

Don't let downtime be dead time. AVIXA (formerly InfoComm) has opened all of its online training catalogue to everyone until 12 June, so AV professionals can upskill while they are home-bound or work is on hold. This is all free to everyone, including non-members. While known for their Integration courses, there are quite a few courses for Live Events professionals too. ETC have announced that all of their LearningStage online training is free until May 15 - login to access here.
