As you can see from the photographs, there was a lot of activity at Toronto Rehab this past month.  We were excited to have joined the City of Toronto in launching the first annual Rehabilitation Day when we recognized our incredible clinicians, staff and scientists who are empowering people through rehabilitation. From this year forward, Rehabilitation Day will happen in the city on the third Tuesday of September, providing an opportunity to recognize staff, patients and volunteers for their work. Our e-newsletter is one way for us demonstrate, year-round, their incredible impact and how you can get involved in bolstering their efforts.

You will also see some of the fundraising events planned for the fall and I hope that you can join us at Rocket Ride for Rehab at First Canadian Place.  You do need to reserve a bike in advance and the event is filling up fast.  We are also extremely grateful to Walter and Marie Schroeder for being one of the beneficiaries of a musical that is playing in Toronto next month.  The Schroeders have committed a portion of all proceeds of the Toronto run of No Change in the Weather to Toronto Rehab, St. Michael’s Hospital and Toronto General Hospital.  Given that the production features the music of Newfoundland, it can’t help but be uplifting and community spirited.  If you’re from The Rock originally, you won’t want to miss this evening in the theatre!

Best regards,

September is World Alzheimer's Month
To raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia, World Alzheimer's Month was launched in 2012. At Toronto Rehab, we have expertise in addressing the full range of physical, mental, emotional and social issues associated with Alzhiemer’s disease and other types of dementia; providing strategies to help people cope with the deterioration of memory and thinking skills. Read our story
