Menya New Testament Dedication

On Februrary 28, 2018 the Menya people celebrated as they received the completed New Testament in their language!

Carl and Pat Whitehead have worked alongside the Menya people for 47 years. Praise God for what He has allowed to come to fruition. May it change the hearts of all who read it.

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)

Thank You!!

We are overwhelmed with thankfulness for God's provision through each of you! Many have increased your giving in recent months and we know there are many who have been praying for God's provision. We have felt your prayers, experiencing, not only His provision financially for all of our needs, but also His perfect peace in the midst of a flurry of sickness and medevacs in our community as well as internet and email problems which Andrew has had to address. Through your financial partnership and support through prayer, we are able to continue our Wycliffe ministry here in PNG. Thank you!

Paul wrote to the church in Phillipi, thanking them for the gifts they sent to him, saying, "They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus." (Phil 4:18-19)

We pray this for you, knowing that your prayers and gifts are a "fragrant offering", a "sacrifice", and we pray that "God will meet all of your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus."

Praises:

  • Melody traveled this month to Cairns, Australia, on a Med-evac flight to take a fellow ill missionary for further treatment. Praise God that it went smoothly and for God's peace during the 4-hr flight.
  • Melody started a new preventative medication for her migraines--it seems to be cutting down the number of days she has headaches.
  • That internet and email problems that have come up recently, have been able to be resolved quickly (for God's wisdom for Andy through that).
  • Praise God that another IT person will be arriving later this year before we leave for furlough to join Andrew and the network team.

Prayer Points:

  • For the people affected by last month's earthquakes in PNG. There have been over one hundred 4.5 magnitude or greater earthquakes affecting Hela, Southern Highlands, Enga, and Western provinces in the last month. Many are still in need of food and clean water. Pray that homes and gardens can be rebuilt, as many were wiped out by landslides caused by the earthquakes. Pray for safety for our pilots who are flying supplies to the areas in need.
  • For a few in our community who are currently in Australia for medical treatment--please pray for wisdom for the medical teams there to diagnose and treat them effectively. Ultimately pray that Jehovah Rapha (the God who heals) will heal them.
  • We will be returning to the US in October this year for a 9-month furlough. Our plans are coming together but there are still many details to sort out. We would love to come and share with your small group and/or church!
