Supporting Bible translation in Papua New Guinea through
computer support and health care
We're thankful for all the scripture translations completed this year! This includes five language groups who received the New Testament in thier language (Gumawana, Kandas, Mato, Migabac, and Mussau-Emira) as well as many others who now have new scripture portions, scripture audio recordings, or videos (Luke film and Jesus film) in their languages. Praise God!
In September, Melody went as a sponsor to "Encounter"--the annual high school retreat. She is thankful to be part of the lives of the 10th grade girls, serving as one of their community group (small group) leaders and seeing them grow in their relationships with the Lord.
In October--Hannah helped in the face-painting booth at Carnival--a fundraiser the secondary students put on yearly for the community. This was Hannah's first year to be involved in Carnival and here she is painting Eden as a bunny. She even had a "carrot"-painted finger to snack on. =) We are thankful for community events like this!
Melody is thankful to be part of a great team providing medical care to our community. Sometimes patients need to be medivac'd for further testing or treatment to Cairns, Australia. Melody and one of the doctors monitored this patient during the flight to Australia. We're thankful that he is currently receiving the surgery and care he needed after a 30-foot fall that resulted in multiple fractures and lacerations.
For the many completed scripture translations this year!
For the ways that God moved and changed hearts among the youth at Encounter--the High School Retreat.
For the team we serve with here--especially the IT team Andrew works with and the doctors and nurses that Melody serves with.
For new neighbors on both sides of our house who have kids that our kids LOVE to play with.
That God would strengthen PNG Christian leaders to be bold in their faith and lead with His guidance.
That God would continue to strengthen and sustain Melody through a very busy season at the clinic, including providing primary care, after-hours coverage, and urgent/emergency care, including medivacs to Australia.
For encouragement through the holidays which are always a little hard being far away from our families.
Please pray against the attacks of the enemy that are being felt in our community here and in surrounding villages and communities--please pray against a tradition of revenge and for peace and forgiveness to take its place.
