Out with the old, in with the new
Exciting new features in our studio control room!
- Four digital HiDef Sony Cameras offering powerful remote controls for exposure, color balance, black level, gain, detail, and many other powerful “look” control.
- A robotically-controlled camera, “Bot 1,” featuring remote pan, tilt, zoom, and focus. You can save up to 16 shots which can be recalled with one keystroke for rapid response.
- Audio board with 16 mic channels, 8 line channels and a Dan Dugan Automatic Mixing card for the first 8 Mic Channels.
- HiDef Compix Character Generator.
- Live Skype and internet access so you can accept live Skype calls and share live web updates throughout your program.
- High quality telephone system that doesn’t require a physical phone on the set. Audio from the phone is directly wired into the audio mixer, providing audio for your TV show theme, studio talent, and the caller.
- A ChromaKey green curtain will soon be installed to give you the opportunity to use green-screen technology on your show.
- Virtual sets are now a possibility through the use of the new switcher, ChromaKey and event memory. Each camera can have its own unique background.
- Five KiPro digital hard drive recorders (instead of tape recorders), with which you can isolate cameras to different drives and have complete recordings of all cameras.
- Blue-Ray recorder and two DVD recorders.
Producers who are already certified as technical directors can join staff producer Mark Pirtle on Wednesdays or Thursdays for hands-on training during the production of a live show. Mark can be reached at (713) 524-7700 x19 or at markp@hmstv.org. Producers can take the Studio Workshop class to become certified technical directors once they’ve completed all of the basic classes and have submitted at least 30 minutes of programming. |
