'Improving the communities wellbeing by
having healthy, active and connected clubs'
It’s National Volunteer Week and we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who give up their time to support the wonderful and varied sporting and recreation clubs, associations and activities across the City of Onkaparinga.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our community and make a huge difference in people’s lives. The ability to participate in many of our sport and recreation activities relies on the valued dedication and contribution of volunteers. Thank you.

Time to update your information

What does this mean?
All sporting clubs will soon receive their annual (OACNET) renewal where we ask you to update your contact details and provide us with some basic participation information to help us understand your sport and to better plan for the future.

For clubs that lease a council building this is the time that we ask you to provide your certificate of currency and let us know how you are travelling with your lease requirements.

Providing this information will ensure that you continue to receive up to date information on grants and other opportunities for your club.

Communicating in Recovery Workshop

When disaster strikes, communities on every level are a vital component for good recovery.

Since emergency events are unpredictable Red Cross are working towards preparing our communities for those 'Just in case' moments. This can also include personal emergencies within families and have significant impact on the communities who know these families.

Red Cross are pleased to offer the 'Communicating in Recovery' training to people who are engaged working and/or managing information.

This workshop includes, but not limited to:
  • Administrators of community Facebook pages
  • Editors/writers/collators of community, school or church newsletters
  • Media roles within local sporting organisations
If a position or role you have responsibility for, that has you communicating with groups or local residents, this training is for you!

The session will run for 2 hours at the Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre on Thursday 26 May at 6.30pm (a light meal is provided).

Places are limited and bookings essential through Eventbrite
