<<Salutation>>
It is time for another update from the Gibbs!

Our last newsletter came to you from Nigeria.  We are in Minnesota now and our plan was to be back in Nigeria by now.  We know how our plans go though, don’t we?
We moved into the new Administrative Block building the beginning of July and we are all enjoying our new space there.  Our security wall has been extended to block off the old Administrative building from the road.  This makes everything more secure in the compound.  We will renovate the old administrative offices for visiting short-term teams and it also gives us a great place when a new global worker joins us.  We have been praying for a Global Worker to come, join us and start a Disciple-Making Movement in our area.

We came back to the States in mid-July as planned.  We have picked up many donations to go on the container during our time in the States so far.  We have a packing station in our pole barn and have boxed, numbered, weighed and inventoried each of our boxes.  We are amazed and so humbled by the wonderful donations of medical, educational, and sustainability items donated.  We are blessed by your generosity and the love shown to our brothers and sisters in Nigeria.  We really have been just blown away and so very thankful and excited to get these items back to Nigeria and put them to good use!

The Staff at GECHAAN are doing a wonderful job of moving the ministry forward in all ways in our absence from Gembu, we are so thankful and proud of each person on our staff and their efforts to reach people for Jesus in our area. The hospital is doing well.  The Professor is doing more extensive surgeries one week a month and this is helping our community and expanding our services greatly. The Technical Training Program graduated 6 of our 7 prep class students to their apprenticeship programs, and Days for Girls is going well.  Our supporting businesses, the guest house, restaurant, and power and light are moving forward smoothly as well.

When we planned on coming back to the States, we only planned on being here for 8 weeks or so.  We were also supposed to have our duty waiver for the shipping container long before now.  We continue to wait for the duty waiver, our person in Abuja has been asked to come back Monday the 4th.  We also have much uncertainty with where we are going to pack the container and those sorts of details because we don’t have a date yet of when we will get a duty waiver. Please bathe the duty waiver and all of the details involved with shipping in prayer.  We don’t have anything firm and this uncertainty makes us uncomfortable, but we know God does have everything handled and it will be in His time.

In His Service,

Dan & Tina Gibbs

On September 6 a long-term staff member at GECHAAN passed away.  Stella Nzlak was pregnant with her first child, went into labor and passed away from blood loss.  Our team, including the Professor worked very hard, she had 10 pints of blood transfused and they couldn’t find where the problem was.  Please pray for our whole staff as we mourn the loss of Stella.  Please pray for Stella’s husband and the two sweet little boys who have lost two mommies now in child birth.
