Welcome to Day 7 of the Sleekgeek 14-Day New Year Kickstart Challenge!

A quick recap from yesterday:
  • Eric introduced you to the Habit of Eating to 80% Full and explained why it goes hand-in-hand with the Habit of Eating Slowly as arguably the most important healthy habits you could ever do.

  • Elan talked about the difference between outcome based and behaviour based goals and how the distinction is critical in turning your dreams into actions.
Now, let's dive in to today's lessons and tasks!
NUTRITION Lesson + Task:

In the video below, Eric explains The 90/10 Rule For Moderation and how you can use it to focus on making progress rather than chasing perfection by putting in hard but realistic effort.

TASK:

There is no specific task for you today.

But, I do want you to think about how you can use The 90/10 Rule and the knowledge that you don’t have to eat “perfectly” to be more consistent.

Let us know in the Sleekgeek Facebook Group what you think about the 90/10 Rule (Use the hashtag #SGNY so that your posts are easily searchable by us and your fellow challengers).

We will be giving away several entries into the upcoming Sleekgeek 8-Week Challenge to the most active and enthusiastic Kickstart Challengers as the challenge goes along.
MINDSET Lesson + Task

In the video below, Elan talks about how you do not need to be perfect in order to succeed on this journey to health and fitness.

TASK:

Think of your current healthy habits and write down any areas that you want to improve in, such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, or stress management.

Then, write down one small adjustment that you can make to make to improve each one ever so slightly. Make it simple, do-able, and sustainable.

For example: If you are sleeping 5 hours a night at the moment then challenge yourself to add on an extra 30-60 minutes. That would be much more do-able than trying to be perfect by aiming for 8 or 9 hours of sleep immediately.

Let us know in the Sleekgeek Facebook Group what your main areas are that you want to improve and which small actions you are going to take to aim for progress rather than perfection (use the hashtag #SGNY so that your posts are easily searchable by us and your fellow challengers).

That's all for now, see you tomorrow!
