Army Corps of Engineers: "EPA’s Water Rule Cannot Be Enforced"
Published: 9:40 AM August 06, 2015
With so much attention focused on the Environmental Protection Agency’s rules on air quality and its effects on coal-powered states like Wisconsin, an earlier rule is getting savaged inside the corridors of the federal bureaucracy.
The EPA’s “Waters of the United States†or WOTUS rule, proposed earlier this year without much fanfare, looks to be completely unenforceable according to the Army Corps of Engineers. In internal memos released earlier this week by the House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee, the Corps is saying the rule ‘will never hold up in court’ and that the EPA is ‘grossly misinterpreting’ the data the Corps has provided it.

Facing the perils of Wild West cattle-driving as Texas most famous trail boss

Author Clark Selby tells tale of leading 3,000 longhorns from Star Ranch to Dodge City in new book
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (PRWEB) August 20, 2015
Leading a cattle drive was one of the most exhausting and dangerous jobs available in the Wild West, but at least the longhorns didn’t try to kill the cowboy. Add fleeing from thugs out for blood to the process and the cattle driver is in for a rough time.
In Clark Selby’s new novel, “Indian Leader Trail Bossâ€, Indian Leader is so renowned for his skill during these drives that he is hired on to lead 3,000 longhorns across an incredible distance. The only problem is that by the time he arrives at the ranch, his boss has been murdered, and Indian Leader is forced to go on the voyage with the rancher’s daughter in tow while the murderous gang pursues him.
By Peter Mears, Harry Ransom Center Blogger, University of Texas
From August 4 through November 29, 2015, the Harry Ransom Center hosts the exhibition Frank Reaugh: Landscapes of Texas and the American West. The showcase displays over 100 artworks by renowned artist Frank Reaugh (pronounced “Rayâ€). To complement the exhibition, a companion book is available titled Windows on the West, The Art of Frank Reaugh, edited by Curator of Art Peter F. Mears. The excerpt below is Mears’s introduction to the book, titled “Rediscovering the Art of Frank Reaugh.†In it, he describes Reaugh’s life, vision, and legacy as one of Texas’s most iconic artists.
We love for our breeders to give promotional memberships to their prospective buyers!
These promotional memberships are good for 3 months and will hopefully encourage new breeders to join the TLBAA. When giving a promotional membership, it is important to ask if the account should be set up with ranch name or in the member’s name. If possible, we would like to have an address, telephone numbers, and an email address.
Please take the opportunity of not only selling your animals, but to also mentor these new promotional members and offer them your wealth of knowledge and information about the Texas Longhorns.
Let us know if we can help with this process. Call Rick or Dana with questions at (817) 625-6241.
