The TLBAA Announces Five Judge Panel for Horn Showcase Futurity
On Thursday, August 13, the TLBAA announced a five judge panel and other details for the Horn Showcase Futurity. Cash prizes and huge bragging rights are in store for you at this brand new competition. Learn more about the futurity on the TLBAA website or by clicking here.
We love for our breeders to give promotional memberships to their prospective buyers!
These promotional memberships are good for 3 months and will hopefully encourage new breeders to join the TLBAA. When giving a promotional membership, it is important to ask if the account should be set up with ranch name or in the member’s name. If possible, we would like to have an address, telephone numbers, and an email address.
Please take the opportunity of not only selling your animals, but to also mentor these new promotional members and offer them your wealth of knowledge and information about the Texas Longhorns.
Let us know if we can help with this process. Call Rick or Dana with questions at (817) 625-6241.

Fall Weaning - Spreading Out the Stressors
August 11, 2015

This is due to both the separation from its dam and also the other activities that typically occur at this time, namely vaccination, shipping, co-mingling and nutritional changes. The key to reducing this stress is to spread out the stressors. That’s the essence of a pre-weaning program – it gets the calves prepared for stress well before the stress actually occurs. And with today’s high-value calves, now is the time to take a close look at the products and procedures available that can help reduce stress and improve calf health and productivity.
