Dear WTR Network Family and Friends,

The new edition of Active Hope begins by acknowledging how increasingly urgent the call to action has become in the ten years since the book was first published. Co-authors Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone remind us that the realities we are facing can seem insurmountable. In times like these we are called to find courage and resilience we didn’t know we had. The Shambhala Warrior Prophecy can be a powerful guiding story for us. When we recognize ourselves as someone who has been called to dismantle harm, we are heeding the call of the Shambhala Warrior.

On July 23rd, Joanna and Chris will join us for an Active Hope (new edition) Book Launch, during which they will speak about the invitation of the prophecy. In 2005, Chris recorded Joanna telling the story of the Shambhala Warrrior Prophecy. The story is as powerful now as it was then. We invite you to watch the video and join the webinar. You may find that this prophecy speaks directly to you.

Be sure to check our event listings for Chris Johnstone’s free Active Hope Foundations Training, a book group and other workshops offering opportunities to engage.

Yours in the Great Turning,

🌀 WTR Network Weavers Team

Tomorrow, Join us for
Active Hope (new edition) Book Launch

Saturday, July 23, 2022
9 – 11am PDT / 4 – 6pm UTC

Since Active Hope was first published a decade ago, the Great Unraveling has progressed at an alarming rate. To better address this disturbing new context, Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone have taken a fresh new view of Active Hope, with the tenth anniversary edition published in June (US) and July (much of the rest of the world) this year.

On Saturday, July 23, Joanna and Chris will share why they’re excited by this new edition, describing some of the key shifts in thinking and practice it brings.

Survey: How is the Work That Reconnects Being Used?

There’s still time to participate in a survey exploring different ways the Work That Reconnects is used. Marc Decitre, a Masters Student at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Science in Paris, France is conducting the research. This is a great way to contribute to the growing body of research about the Work.
