co-creating a safe and dignified world for women and girls

Parity Lab is an innovative accelerator for women-led organizations that foster community-driven solutions to end violence against women and girls. We identify women-leaders from marginalized communities and offer an embedded support system that provides capacity building, coaching, and thought partnership.

In The Spotlight
We have received the Acumen Angels award! It is a early stage capital award for supporting impact-driven enterprises, like Parity Lab, led by leaders in the Acumen community, like our founder, Mathangi. We are so grateful for this support to be able to continue supporting the vital work done by our partner grassroots organizations to end gender-based violence. Find out more by clicking on the image!
We were an award winner at the UC Berkeley Big Ideas contest! It was an honour to be chosen from over 150 teams. Moments like these give us the confidence and encouragement to keep moving forward! This would not be possible without the support of Ayushi Srivastava, Vini Pathak, Sheela Bowler, Karenna Rehorn  and  Shivani Garg ❤️
Welcome Pooja to the Parity Lab team! 🙌
Pooja is a South Asian Intersectional Feminist. They have completed their Bachelor's in Journalism and Masters in Gender studies. They are passionate about reducing Violence Against Women (VAW), child abuse, and caste-based discrimination.  In their free time, they love to watch movies, spread joy by helping and talking to people, and create awareness through social media.
We have some exciting things brewing behind the scenes! Over the past few months, we have been working on a research report highlighting the unique roles grassroots organizations play in helping survivors of gender-based violence achieve justice.
We will be launching the report in June with a launch event! 📆 Keep an eye out on our social media (linked at the end of newsletter)! 👀
Community Centered
Staff members from our partner organizations have been engaging in fun English lessons, delivered by Talking Yak, an android-based teaching system for Hindi speakers! In fact, Talking Yak's lessons have brought out the staff's competitive streaks, with everyone eager to be on top of the weekly Leaderboard. 🏆
Taking even bigger leaps in communications, our partner organization Samarthya, led by Ranjita Pawar, has launched their own newsletter! Click on the image to visit their website and sign up for quarterly updates on all the amazing work they do for De-notified and nomadic tribes in Maharasthra.
We are so proud to share that our partner organization, Sahjani Shiksha Kendra's (SSK) Women's day awareness rally was covered by rural Hindi media network Khabar Lehariya! Watch the video on Youtube to hear from SSK's founder, Meena and  find out more.
