Hi <<First Name>>,

In this issue of the Trail Mix, we'd like to pay tribute to one of our legendary guides, Cynthia Valladares. For some people, being a leader is in their bones, and this is certainly true for Cynthia. She expertly offers professionalism, patience, fun and friendliness in a way that breaks down all barriers and leaves you feeling like you've just made a new best friend. That's inspiring!

Last week Cynthia was leading an Ultimate Peru Adventure trip in the Amazon, when they spotted a jaguar in the wild. Unfortunately, jaguar are a threatened species, so this is a very rare sight - in fact Cynthia hadn't personally seen one in this region for 10 or 11 years. As you could imagine, she and her group were over the moon with the experience! As it turns out, it's been 10 years since Cynthia first guided for Active Adventures (and it was a 'Jaguar' trip) - a fitting way to mark such a milestone.

In her 10 years she's guided over 100 trips, in Peru and Patagonia, and has cared for over 1000 guests. Our guest feedback about Cynthia as a trip leader is beyond awesome - an inspiration to everyone here at Active HQ! We'd like to share one particular story with you...

The guests in the photo below are (left to right): Kevin, Stan, (Cynthia), Wayne and Gail. Back in 2014, friends Kevin and Stan met Wayne and Gail during their 'Jaguar' trip. They had an absolute blast with Cynthia and they ended up getting these t-shirts made; the 'IWBLC' stands for "I wanna Be Like Cynthia", which they wore in 2016 when they went back to South America to do the 'Condor' trip with her. Classic eh!

Last year in September we invited Cynthia over to New Zealand to spend some time at Active HQ. This was a really special experience and an important opportunity to ensure that we're all singing from the same song sheet, so to speak. Cynthia had an amazing time exploring New Zealand and the photo below is from the Roberts Point Track - her favourite hike.

What Cynthia represents in her guiding is true of all our guides and is the foundation for what makes our trips head and shoulders above the rest. When you read her reviews you'll notice she has the uncanny ability to transform a great trip into a truly unforgettable adventure of a lifetime.

Thinking of joining us in South America?

We can hold your spot obligation free for 48 hours, so just click on the button below, tell us the trip and date you're interested in and we'll be in touch with you shortly to sort out the finer details!

If you'd like to share your own experience of travelling with Cynthia on one of our adventure trips, or with any of our amazing guides for that matter, please write us a Facebook Review!

Cheers,

Darren & the Active team
