It was one of those serendipitous moments where things just kind of fit together to bring you this pack. We connected with Justin over a random message through Instagram. He is an explorer at heart with a natural eye for taking whatever an environment has to offer and not forcing anything onto it, instead shooting it as it is.
These photos are from a trip he took with friends to Lake Claiborne, Louisiana.
"Photography for me began as a way to document my life. About four years ago I was touring the states as a singer/songwriter. I got to visit over 35 states and explore some of the most beautiful places in America. I desperately needed a way to document my travels for my friends and family, so I picked up an iPhone."
Has your style changed since?
"Backpacking is one of my favorite things to do. I find answers to questions I normally wouldn't even think to ask out in the wild. Documenting these trips, and the places we hike, still rings true to my original motive - capturing the greatest moments of my life for my friends and family. I would say that my style has remained true all of these years. It's my knowledge and understanding of photography that has grown."
