October 2016

Leadership Day Wrap Up

Presentations for Business Leaders Group and Regional Leadership Skills were held at Federation University on Friday 7th October.
Our 13 BLG and 17 RLS graduates each shared their individual LW 2016 story with us.
The members of the RLS group also spoke about their community project.
Projects this year were:
Wildlife Awareness
Making Sense of the Census
Wimmera Social Butterflies.

Leadership Day concluded with Graduation Evening at Quantong Recreation Reserve where 100 guests enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal prepared by Kirsty's Cakes & Catering which featured pulses in the entrées and main courses as 2016 is the International Year of the Pulse.  Guests enjoyed sugar free desserts.
Anti-sugar campaigner David Gillespie was our guest speaker.  David shared his research findings about the damage that sugar can do to our health; very interesting and thought-provoking.
Prue McCreddin, 2008 Community Leadership Year graduate, was our LW Graduate Network speaker.  Prue shared her leadership story with us.  Prue's volunteer community work is indeed an inspiration, especially to our newest group of graduates.
