The Australian Census provides an important snapshot of Australia’s people and their housing. The 2016 Census will be held on Tuesday, 9 August 2016.
As part of the move towards a Digital Census, more than two thirds of the population are expected to complete the Census online this year. To support the transition towards a Digital Census, Horsham Rural City Council, together with a Regional Leadership Skills Project team, will conduct a group drop in session will be held at the Civic Centre on Census Night between 4 pm and 8pm.
Twelve workstations connected to the internet will be available for use in the reception area. People will also be encouraged to bring in their own devices and Wi-Fi will be provided. Residents will need to bring their Census letter from the ABS which includes their unique login. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be staff and volunteers available to take people through the steps of completing the Census online.
