Thank you to 500 residents!

Bravo! You're making history toward creative re-use of this iconic building along the banks of the Wisconsin River in downtown Rapids. Phase 1 of Tribune Building Public Idea-Gathering wrapped up in early February, and we sincerely thank over 500 residents who actively participated in bringing ideas and energy to the process.

Results from the February 11 public meeting are posted now! Phase 2 Design and Construction will begin in Spring; until then, check out TribuneBuilding.org for photos, videos, and resources documenting the process to-date.

"What If" supports Fundraising Resource Center idea

Got a great idea for a community fundraiser, but don’t have the equipment or resources to do it? A group of residents are helping make it possible. Soon, a Community Fundraising Resource Center will provide the necessities, like tents, tables, chairs and more. All you’ll need to add are the volunteers.

Dawn Vruwink from Incourage explained, "This idea is a great example of what we are looking for in our new 'What If' grants. The Community Fundraising Resource Center is a resident-led project that’s bringing people together to move a good idea to action."

Project leader Amy Scheide noted, "The obvious benefit will be the funds raised for those in need. But the idea in creating the Center is that community members will engage and share ideas in the spirit of relationship-building by supporting their fellow residents." The new Center is a Heart of Wisconsin leadership class project.

Fundraising volunteers and non-profits are invited to an idea and resource sharing session on March 27 at The Eatery, 5:30 - 7 p.m. Attendees will brainstorm items needed and compile a list of materials already in possession.
