CY Moerdijk: launch of paperless customs concept

Following the successful implementation of the cross-border paperless customs concept to Amsterdam, PSA Antwerp is proud to announce that - as of mid-February 2014 -  the CY (Container Yard) Moerdijk bound import containers can now benefit from a similar simplified administrative customs procedure. This e-Gate service has been developed by Delta Marine Terminal (DMT) , Portmade and PSA Antwerp.

CY La Louvière officially launched

On the 21st of February, PACO (Port Autonome du Centre et de l’Ouest), Duferco Logistique and PSA Antwerp jointly hosted a roadshow to promote the container shuttle barge service between the PSAA terminals and the Garocentre terminal in La Louvière (Southern Belgium). With this roadshow the CY La Louvière product was officially launched, hereby further extending PSAA’s hinterland product

The roadshow welcomed various shippers & forwarders with container traffic from/to the port of Antwerp and the regions of Hainaut and Nord-Pas-de-Calais. This barge shuttle service now runs with a frequency of 5 round trips/week. Electric cars rolled out as quay cars

In its vision of working towards an ecologic work environment, PSA Antwerp will be rolling out a fleet of 11 new electric quay cars on Deurganck terminal situated on the left bank.

Around May 2014, the first round of electric cars will be introduced.

1000 kilometres cycling for the Cancer Foundation

On Ascension weekend PSA Antwerp will be participating in the fifth edition of the “Kom op tegen Kanker” cycling event with eight enthusiastic cyclists. The goal is to cycle a vast amount of 1000 kilometres in four days. At the end of the day each hosting city will offer the cyclists a warm welcome.

The intention of this event is to raise money for the cancer foundation, which distributes the received donations to several purposes: diagnosis and therapy of residual tumor cells with as aim to increase the survival chances and enhance the quality of life of cancer patients.

PSA Antwerp handles unique cargo

On the 25th of January, a fire truck from the city of Antwerp was refurbished and shipped to Chili. A successful cooperation between PSA Antwerp, MSC Home Terminal, MSC Belgium, Umicore and the city of Antwerp, whereby PSAA was in charge of stuffing this unique cargo on a flat.

The final destination of the Antwerp fire truck was the Fire Department of Cochabamba (Bolivia), where the truck was granted a second life.
