In January 2021, we proudly started the implementation of the project “Establishment of a transnational network of adult education providers for the promotion of social inclusion of vulnerable groups – STEP UP” which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

For the next two years, the consortium partners will be collaborating closely for the establishment and development of a transnational network of adult education providers, which will promote the role of cultural and artistic activities in the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.

Knowledge sharing and the pilot implementation of selected cultural and artistic activities, in the context of informal and non-formal education targeting vulnerable groups, will be at the heart of the project while emphasis will also be given in the dissemination of all project related information.

Over the last years, the consortium partners have recognized the role of cultural and artistic activities, as an educational method, in the promotion of the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.

In particular, we have identified that the participation of members of various vulnerable groups in artistic and cultural activities, have led to the development of a broad set of skills, which are required for their (re)integration in various aspects of social life.

We truly believe that taking part in high-quality creative activities help people from vulnerable groups to gain transferable skills, develop their self-confidence and connect to their communities.
