Soft Phone Capability Increases Flexibility

A new soft phone offering is coming to Berkeley Lab. The IT Division's Telephone Services Center is rolling out a program to modernize its services and increase flexibility by offering soft phone technology. Individuals will have access to their Lab phone number and voicemail across multiple devices, including their computers and smartphones.

Zoom is offered by Berkeley Lab and all UC campuses under a negotiated agreement and continues to be the primary recommended and supported video conferencing system.

To help secure your Zoom event and host with confidence, please review tips from IT on Zoom Security Settings and apply these safety practices to your meetings. 

Embed Google Form Response Charts

You can now embed linked Google Form response charts into a Google Doc, Google Slides presentation, or a Google Drawing.

This feature is useful for sharing real-time responses to polls or surveys and for incorporating Forms responses data into presentations or reports. 

Explore the Lab via Virtual Tours

Virtual tours of Berkeley Lab at maps.lbl.gov

Did you know virtual tours are publicly available on maps.lbl.gov? Curious friends and family or staff new to the Lab may want to check out the aerial tour for a bird's-eye view or walk through popular facilities and labs at leisure.

Guided virtual public tours are also available at pre-scheduled times through visits.lbl.gov

Refresh Berkeley Lab Logos

Berkeley Lab logo

The Berkeley Lab logo depicts two iconic campus structures: the Advanced Light Source at Berkeley Lab and the Campanile at the University of California. The current iteration of the logo is modern, readily identifiable, and adjustable to various sizes and applications. Please help ensure the Lab is consistently represented on communication materials and signature lines.

IT Job Opportunities

Employees are encouraged to utilize their existing contacts and networks to refer qualified candidates to join the Lab. The Employee Referral Incentive Program (ERIP) awards payment to employees when referrals of an external candidate lead to a successful hire.
