New Websites Now Live!

In order to keep the community up to date on progress in the Kalispell Core & Rail Redevelopment (CRR), Flalthead County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) and the City of Kalispell launched a new website in April. The site includes timelines, media coverage, and development opportunities, as well as details concerning Glacier Rail Park infrastructure. Interactive maps and video along with a list of Frequently Asked Questions are provided to assist those in the community, as well as those considering relocation, to envision the future of Kalispell.

FCEDA has also produced a new website which highlights the organization’s projects, board members and success stories. Anyone interested in the structure, funding, or history of FCEDA will find information on the new website!

The existing website for the City of Kalispell includes the Core Area Plan, Core Area Market Study, and other details pertinent to Core & Rail Redevelopment.

Railroad tracks prevent access to the North side of Kalispell Center Mall and Red Lion Hotel. Removing the tracks will open this area up to redevelopment.

Environmental Assessment on Schedule for Fall '16 Completion

As a requirement of the federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant funding for the Kalispell Core & Rail Redevelopment, an Environmental Assessment (EA) must be completed for the rail park area, the current location of the tracks in Kalispell, and surrounding areas that could be impacted by the proposed transportation infrastructure changes.

The Federal Rail Administration (FRA) will review the EA document with plans to make it available to the public for comment in late summer. Expected completion and approval are slated for the fall of 2016, after which construction work may begin. See more news on the Core & Rail Redevelopment HERE.
