As of June 2016, Elke Guenther will take over the management of AIT’s Health & Environment Department. She is a biologist by training and has been recruited from the University of Tübingen and NMI TT GmbH where Guenther isin charge of the pharma services department.

Pfizer: 40 years of TBE production in Austria
The active ingredients of some 10 million doses of the TBE vaccine are currentlyproduced in Austria annually. The vaccine protects against all known TBE-virus subtypes and has been developed by virologists at the University of Vienna 40 years ago.

Vetmeduni Vienna: When the immune system promotes tumor growth
The immune system plays an important role in the prevention of cancer. Researchers from the Vetmeduni Vienna have now discovered that NK cells can switch from eliminating cancerous cells to promoting tumor growth, with STAT5 acting as the key regulator.
