Please join HUD and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to learn more about the new opportunity Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) announced in Notice PIH 2019-20 (HA).
FYI offers a new opportunity for public housing authorities (PHAs) that do not participate in HUD’s Family Unification Program (FUP) to request tenant protection vouchers (TPV), a tenant-based housing voucher, for up to 36 months of assistance. These vouchers can be utilized by eligible youth 18-24 with child welfare history who are at-risk-of or experiencing homelessness.
This webinar will cover FYI eligibility for PHAs and for young people, details on how to request vouchers under the new initiative, tips on partnering with your local public child welfare agency (PWCA) and Continuum of Care (CoC), and strategies for targeting FYI-TPV.
Date: August 6, 2019
