HUD Announces Changes to the AFFH Data and Mapping Tool (AFFH-T)

HUD is pleased to announce an update to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) Data and Mapping Tool (AFFH-T).

A new release of the AFFH-T is scheduled for September 29, 2017. Please note the AFFH-T application will be out of service starting close of business on September 29, 2017 until the morning of October 2, 2017.

AFFH-T Release 4.1 will include functionality for some Public Housing Authority (PHA) maps and tables, additional features for the beta versions of state maps and tables, and other enhancements to the user experience. Users will be able to use the updated maps and tables, and will also continue to have access to existing maps and tables that are currently available in AFFH-T Release 4.0 (data versions AFFHT0001, AFFHT0002, and AFFHT0003). By default, maps and tables for local governments continue to populate with AFFHT0003 (the HUD-provided data version AFFHT0003, that was released on July 20, 2017).

HUD expects to soon update the AFFH-T resources on HUD Exchange, including the AFFH-T Data Documentation, AFFH-T User Guide, and AFFH-T Raw Data files to reflect the new features and changes in the AFFH-T.

Please refer to the Interim Guidance for Program Participants on Status of Assessment Tools and Submission Options to learn about the current status of the Assessment Tools and the required uses of the AFFH-T. More information on system updates will be posted on HUD Exchange. HUD continues to encourage you to subscribe to the HUD Exchange Mailing List to receive the most up-to-date information on AFFH Rule implementation.
