HUD announces the availability of the 2012
HUD Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Tool for communities on the
OneCPD Resource Exchange. This no-cost downloadable software is now available for each state and allows users with only basic computer skills to:
- Interact with professional quality GIS data for Continuums of Care (CoCs)
- Access pre-compiled statewide project data through a free software product called ArcReader
- Explore CoC geocode boundaries and Preliminary Pro Rata Need (PPRN) data
- Route planning capabilities
- Add and save custom location data
- Design and print custom maps
No special software/map skills beyond basic computer skills are required, meaning users can quickly get started working with maps of their communities.
