HUD is pleased to announce the CPD Income Eligibility Calculator
, a new tool to help CPD grantees determine income eligibility and assistance amounts for beneficiaries of CPD programs. It is as easy as 1-2-3: simply enter the requested data and this calculator will work behind the scenes to generate a summary of results for each beneficiary.
What is the CPD Income Eligibility Calculator?
The Income Calculator assists CPD grantees with accurately calculating income eligibility of CPD program beneficiaries. While the calculator assists with income eligibility determination, it does not replace need for grantee to collect, verify and file third party source documents (when required) and have local policies and procedures.
What CPD Programs are Covered by the Income Calculator?
The calculator currently performs income eligibility and assistance amount calculations for the following HUD CPD programs:
How does the Income Calculator work?
Brownfield Economic Development Initiative (BEDI)
Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
CDBG Disaster Recovery Assistance
HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)
Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)
Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)
Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program
Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity (SHOP)
The Calculator asks a series of questions depending on the program, activities, and other inputs selected by the user. The user inputs data about the beneficiary while the Calculator generates summary of results for each beneficiary. When the calculation has been completed, the user will need to print out the summary sheets to include in beneficiary's file.
To help ensure the privacy of applicants, the calculator requests that users input a Beneficiary ID and Member IDs instead of the last and first names of family or household members. No personal information including but not limited to names, social security numbers, or addresses should be used in the Calculator.
Before getting started, users should have a printer, any previous income determinations completed for the beneficiary, and documentation of income for all members of the beneficiary's family or household. Allow at least 15 minutes to complete each applicant’s calculation summary. The calculator will allow users to save and/or edit the calculations they have completed for beneficiaries for up to 13 months.
