Register Now: Free Underwriting Training for NSP Grantees
HUD is pleased to announce that space is still available for the final three classes of free underwriting training for NSP grantees. National Development Council’s (NDC) Housing Development Finance Professional Certification Program is open to all NSP grantees at no cost as part of HUD’s technical assistance effort. Grantees need only pay any related travel costs. For more information see below or visit NDC's website.

*There is no waiver of prerequisites.

Grantees may take the courses individually. Participants who successfully complete the four HDFP courses and pass the examination in each course are awarded NDC’s HDFP Certification.

If you do not receive a passing grade on the in-class certification exam, you will have the opportunity to re-take the exam as provided by NDC.

The four underwriting courses will equip NSP grantees with permanent, self-sustaining skills to engage in the development of affordable housing and address issues related to foreclosure and abandonment in their communities. NDC will impart the financial and deal structuring skills that grantees need to turn affordable housing development opportunities into accomplishments. The training sessions will build capacity to support affordable housing development in high distressed areas.

Register Today 

Each grantee will register up to two individuals for each training course. Any subrecipients or grantee partners interested in attending a training course must be registered by its NSP grantee. Participants must be able to commit for the entire class.

HUD reserves the right to cancel any course due to low registration numbers. Determination will be made 30 days prior to the start of a training course. If a course is canceled, you will be contacted by NDC and given information regarding additional opportunities for grantees.

Finally, each grantee will receive pre-session materials, including an agenda and general information about the training sessions approximately three weeks prior to the start of a scheduled training.
