Register Today: Rental Development for CHDOs - Charleston, WV; Kansas City, KS; Boston, MA

HUD’s Office of Affordable Housing Programs is pleased to offer a two-day intermediate level course on rental development for CHDOs in the HOME Program. Rental Development for CHDOs is a course primarily targeted to experienced CHDO representatives. The course is intended to assist existing CHDOs to improve their capacity to develop and successfully sustain HOME-assisted rental housing. Core topics include the critical role of market assessment, underwriting fundamentals, and ongoing compliance and asset management requirements. The course also addresses role requirements within the CHDO set-aside with particular emphasis on sponsorship of low income housing tax credit projects.

Who Should Attend

This is an intermediate level course, intended as a focused session on rental development for CHDOs and is best suited for staff of established CHDOs or with varying levels of experience in rental housing. It is also suitable for non-profit organizations working with state or local PJs to achieve CHDO status and funding for rental projects. PJ staff is welcome to register, but priority will be given to CHDO staff. PJ staff registration requests will not be confirmed until it is determined that space is available. Please note that submitting a registration request does not guarantee you a seat at the training. Due to limited space, registrations will be reviewed and approved prior to confirmation. You will receive a confirmation email if you are accepted into the training. Please do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until you receive a confirmation email from the Training Point of Contact.

Note to registrants about events held in HUD facilities: the Department of Homeland Security Real ID Phase 3b Enforcement Rule is in effect. This rule does not allow access to Federal buildings by visitors presenting driver’s licenses from states whose IDs are not in compliance, currently: Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, and Washington. Visitors entering HUD facilities from these noncompliant states must present another form of identification, such as a Federal issued ID or passport upon entering the premises.

The trainings in Kansas City and Boston will be held in HUD facilities. The Charleston training will be held at the offices of the West Virginia Housing Development Fund, which does not have the ID standards outlined above.
