Energy and Mineral Development Program
The Division of Energy and Mineral Development (DEMD) has advertised its annual grant program titled the Energy and Mineral Development Program (EMDP). This grant is designed to provide technical assistance to Tribes that have the desire to develop their mineral and/or energy resources. The deadline for all applicants is Friday, July 8, 2016.
Resources eligible for funding are:
- Minerals-Aggregate, Metals, etc.
- Biomass - Woody and Waste
- Oil, Natural Gas & Coal
The grant can pay for numerous services including:
- Resource Assessments
- Exploration Studies
- Feasibility Studies
- Market Studies
- Engineering Studies
- Economic Evaluations
- Defining Potential Targets for Development
- Consultant Fees
- Heavy Machinery Rental
- Laboratory Testing

Applicants who receive help from DEMD in writing technical aspects of the proposal historically, have been more likely to receive awards.
