From Our Federal Partners: Two New HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau Special Projects of National Significance NOFOs for Replication of Evidence-Informed Housing Interventions

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently released two new HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) for the replication of evidence-informed housing interventions.

Each NOFO contains information on pre-application technical assistance webinars, scheduled for:

  • Monday, December 13, 2021, from 2:00 – 3:30 PM EST (Implementation and Technical Assistance Providers)
  • Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 2:00 – 3:30 PM EST (Evaluation Providers)

The due date for applications is Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

HRSA-22-031: Supporting Replication (SURE) of Housing Interventions in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program – Implementation and Technical Assistance Provider

The purpose of this funding announcement (HRSA-22-031) is to support a single organization that will serve as the Implementation and Technical Assistance Provider (ITAP) to provide technical assistance to up to 10 sites (“implementation sites”) implementing and adapting housing-related evidence-based interventions, evidence-informed interventions, and emerging strategies (collectively, “intervention strategies”) for the following three key populations of people with HIV experiencing unstable housing:

  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning (LGBTQ+) people
  • Youth and young adults (ages 13-24)
  • People who have been justice involved (i.e., people impacted by the justice system)

HRSA-22-032: Supporting Replication (SURE) of Housing Interventions in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program – Evaluation Provider

The purpose of this funding announcement (HRSA-22-032) is to support a single organization that serves as the Evaluation Provider and uses the HRSA HAB implementation science (HAB IS) framework to evaluate housing-related evidence-based interventions, evidence-informed interventions, and emerging strategies (collectively, “intervention strategies”) for the following three key populations of people with HIV experiencing unstable housing:

  • LGBTQ+ people
  • Youth and young adults (ages 13-24)
  • People who have been justice involved (i.e., people impacted by the justice system)

HOPWA Mailing List Subscription

HOPWA is now using two different listservs to communicate competition and program updates:

  • Subscribe to the HUD.gov listserv for information developed by HUD/Office of HIV/AIDS Housing.
  • Subscribe to the HUD Exchange listserv for information and guidance produced by HUD technical assistance providers regarding the HOPWA program.

HOPWA grantees and interested stakeholders should consider subscribing both to the HUD.gov mailing list and HUD Exchange mailing list.
