The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Recapitalization is hosting a webinar with important information on how to preserve the affordability and physical condition of Section 236 buildings, including both HUD-insured and HFA-issued mortgages.
Participants will learn:
- How to start preservation planning for a Section 236 property
- Financing considerations, including mortgage prepayment, IRP decoupling, and Flexible Subsidy Loan deferral
- Rental assistance options, including Section 8 contract renewal, Tenant Protection Vouchers, and RAD 2nd Component
- How to apply for HUD preservation-related approvals
- How HUD can help support an owner through the preservation process
This webinar is intended for owners, board members, consultants, and others involved in the oversight of properties with Section 236 mortgages.

Logging onto GoToWebinar
At least 20 minutes prior to the webinar start time, log onto GoToWebinar by clicking on the link provided in the GoToWebinar email, or copying and pasting the URL provided into your browser. New users may have to run a GoToWebinar/Citrix software prompt on their computer. Some users may need to enable pop up messages in their browser if prompted.
Once logged into GoToWebinar, participants may listen to the webinar via computer speakers by clicking Mic & Speakers under the Audio tab. Participants can also listen to the webinar through the phone by clicking on Telephone under the Audio tab. Call in using the phone number and access code provided.
