Postponed: NFHTA Opening Ceremony and All Fair Housing Leadership Retreats

The health and safety of fair housing professionals are paramount in the fight to end housing discrimination. Due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity has postponed the National Fair Housing Training Academy (NFHTA) Opening Ceremony and all Fair Housing Leadership Retreats until further notice. We encourage you to immediately cancel all hotel reservations, flights, and other travel plans.

HUD's commitment to building knowledge, skills, and capacity of partner fair housing organizations and their staff remains. We look forward to providing additional information regarding the Academy's offerings in the future.

In the meantime, our collective duty to ensure fair housing opportunities remains the same. We encourage you to refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website and to related state and local guidance on how to safely operate during this time. This includes limiting in-person gatherings, using telework technologies to the greatest extent possible, staggering work schedules, and considering canceling all non-essential work travel.

Please direct any questions regarding the postponement of the Academy to Nathan S. Roth at
