Dear friends, artists, activists, and colleagues,
I am reaching out to you for your support regarding The Vienna Project, a new memorial project that began with my process of recovering my grandparents’ murder as victims of the Holocaust. Many historians describe the Holocaust as a watershed moment in the history of western civilization. For my family, it was a series of personal dislocations, separations, and devastating losses.
The Vienna Project uses a combination of art and cutting-edge technologies -- map making, smartphone app’s, video projections, street art, and performance art -- to bear on this city’s history, 75 years after crimes were committed. Today, I am asking for your support to help make this project a reality.
This past week, we launched our first Kickstarter fundraising project, called “Mapping 1938 Vienna.†Kickstarter is an online funding platform for creative projects. We are raising money on Kickstarter for the next 30 days and hope to raise $3,600 to support Phase One of The Vienna Project. We have some wonderful giveaways for donors, so if issues of social justice and tolerance move you, please donate to our Kickstarter and share it with your friends and family. The memorial represents a grass roots initiative, expressed by a talented international project team, willing to embrace the stories of multiple victim groups, as together, we chart a course for a more sustainable future.
Please help us bring memory to Vienna by supporting The Vienna Project!
