Christmas Advent Concert in the “German Settlement”
New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, in fellowship with the Washington Sängerbund and the Lovettsville Historical Society, cordially invites you to a Christmas Advent Concert at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 4th, in the historic sanctuary of the church located at 12942 Lutheran Church Road, Lovettsville, Virginia 20180. Refreshments will be served following the performance. Admission is open to the public and free of charge, although free-will offerings to support the Western Loudoun Food Pantry would be appreciated.
In the “German Settlement” of Western Loudoun County, the Advent tradition inaugurates the season with a spirit of expectation and hope. This year, the Washington Sängerbund will perform in a celebration of Lessons and Carols in English and German for the Christmas season at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, which was founded in 1765 by German-speaking emigrants. The event is also co-sponsored by the Lovettsville Historical Society as part of the community sense-of-place events “Where We Live: The German Settlement.”
The Washington Sängerbund, founded in 1851, is the oldest German singing society in the Washington area. The Sängerbund continues its long tradition of preserving German music and German culture in the Washington metropolitan area with numerous concerts and musical performances during the year, often in conjunction with other groups. Its repertoire consists of music in the German language. The Sängerbund also sponsors other social activities such as an annual "German Fasching - Costume Ball,” and notably brings the authentic German flavor food to Lovettsville’s Oktoberfest since 2003.

The ceremony will be Monday, December 5th at 6:30pm at the Town Hall Chambers.

Town's 2021 Annual Consumer
Report
The Town’s water supply comes from a series of wells located throughout the community. All of the well water is treated and tested for any contaminates and then distributed to users. Every year the Town provides a Drinking Water Report to everyone who is connected to the Town water system. The 2021 Annual Consumer Report is located on the Town's Website: Water | Town of Lovettsville, VA (lovettsvilleva.gov) |
|
Think Before You Flush!
Friendly Reminder: Many people are using disinfecting wipes, paper towels, masks and gloves to maintain health protocols, the Town asks that residents please do not dispose of these products in the toilet. They do not break down like toilet paper and can clog your pipes and the Town’s sanitary sewer system.
