Mayor's Message

May your week be as lively as last night’s Mardi Gras parade on Bourbon Street!

A Heartfelt Thank You

I regret to inform you of the resignation of Councilmember Buchanan “Buck” Smith from the Town Council. Buck served as the longest tenured member of the Council, first winning a Special Election in February 2019, then being reelected in July 2020. Prior to his time on Council, Buck was a member of the Planning Commission from September 2014 – July 2016. In both capacities, Buck has been a vocal advocate for the Town, keeping its small-town character and highlighting its events and community ceremonies. He was instrumental in the two Comprehensive Plan revisions over the past decade, a champion of the Transportation Master Plan, investments in our infrastructure, and always working to keep Lovettsville the best place to be in Loudoun County!

In his resignation, citing health and family commitments, Buck wrote:
“I’m extremely proud of the contributions I've made to the work we have done and the relationships I’ve made…I am sure I will find myself in the service of our town again. I leave this town in perhaps the best hands that have assembled to lead us all into the future, while staying a bit quirky!”

Please join me in wishing Buck well on his future endeavors and thanking him for his long history of service to Lovettsville!

Utilizing Invoice Cloud for your monthly Water and Sewer bill payments has many benefits and convenience for bill payers.  Currently, the Town absorbs all fees associated with e-check transactions, so the cost to you is no more than paying by cash or check.  Invoice Cloud offers other features such as autopay, paperless billing, and pay by text.  You also receive three emailed reminder notices before your bill's due date.  All payments post automatically to the Town’s billing software, eliminating the need for Town staff to manually post and deposit paper checks.

Think Before You Flush!

Friendly Reminder: Many people are using disinfecting wipes, paper towels, masks and gloves to maintain health protocols, the Town asks that residents please do not dispose of these products in the toilet. They do not break down like toilet paper and can clog your pipes and the Town’s sanitary sewer system.
