GSP Eligibility Terminated for India
June 4, 2019

Dear Valued Customer,

On Friday May 31, President Trump announced that on June 5, 2019, India’s Generalized Systems of Preferences (GSP) status will be terminated. The full Presidential proclamation may be viewed
here. Additionally, India is no longer exempt from application of the Section 201 safeguard measures on certain Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic (CSPV) cells, CSPV products, and large residential washers and parts from India. These products are now subject to their respective duties and tariff rate quotas. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published additional resources for Section 201 remedies and tariff rate quotas.

EMO Trans will continue to monitor the situation and send updates when available. If you have any questions, please contact your local EMO Trans office for further assistance.

Best regards,

Matthew Kmet
