Please be advised that the port of Hamburg (Germany's largest container port) is closed due to a strike action by the Union “Verdi." The strike action affects pilot boat crews.
No transfer of pilots is possible until March 24 at 6 am.
Vessels in the port are unable to leave, and vessels waiting outside on the North Sea cannot enter the port.
As of now, only vessel arrivals and departures are affected.
Landside operation is not affected. Terminals are open and trucks, railway, and customs authorities are operating as usual.
The strike is expected to cause disruptions and delays for several days. Customers are advised to contact their EMO Trans sales account managers or operations staff if they have concerns about specific shipments. We will keep you updated on any developments in the situation.
