The Silver Beaver Award is the council level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Do you know a Scouter who has made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council?
The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a Council can bestow upon a volunteer Scouter in recognition of distinguished service to youth within the council’s service area.
Nominees will not only be judged on their outstanding volunteer service with the BSA, but their overall service to youth within our council. The actual recipients will be selected by a volunteer committee comprised of Silver Beaver recipients.

The awards will be presented at the Council Recognition Dinner on March 27, 2019.
Nominations are due in the Council Office by January 31, 2019.  You can download a nomination form

January 11-13, 2019
With the rush of Thanksgiving behind us and the anticipation of Christmas and the New Year growing the anticipation also is starting for the 2019 Old Trails District Klondike Derby! We are now just a couple of months away from the Derby which will once again be taking place at Duck Hollow Golf Course in Uniontown on the weekend of January 11-13th. I would highly encourage each of you to share with your Senior Patrol Leaders the attached leaders guide for this event that was also distributed at the District Recognition Dinner a few weeks ago. Based on the success of this event last year my Co-Host Jacob Gower and I look forward to an even more successful event this year as we continue to serve the youth of our great district!
All that being said an event of this scale cannot be pulled off by just two people, but rather we need the collective effort of the other Adult Leaders to help pull this off. If any of you would like to volunteer or have an Assistant Scoutmaster or Junior Assistant Scoutmaster that would like to help us out with the planning/execution of this event please feel free to reach out to me and I will get you/them involved. With the expectations of making this year's Derby bigger and better for the Scouts in attendance we will need all hands on deck to pull it off!

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Yours Truly,
Aaron Coffman│Klondike Derby Co-Chair
