February 2,2021 Newsletter Edition
This year's first newsletter is being written as I just came in from shoveling four inches of snow. Makes me yearn even more for warm days and flowers.

I am excited for the return of the topiaries and, for the first time, TWO peacocks! They will be in new beds which were installed last fall. They are also each receiving nose jobs. Their beaks have always been cocoa liner (coconut fiber). But thinking about beaks, they should be black. So that is all I will tease you with...perhaps an in-process photo will entice you even more.

So we will be planting again like we did last year, by giving Kalamazoo and Portage a three-day planting schedule. This actually worked very well. Dates and further details will be confirmed in the coming months (below are tentative dates for some of our activities). In the meantime, give our newsletter a read and be sure to take our quick survey.

Looking SO forward to my Bloomin Buddies, flowers, topiaries, peacocks (and new sprinklers in Bronson Park)! Love and hugs...CJ

Help make Riverside Cemetery Memorial Site Accessible
The Westwood Garden Club restored a Veterans Memorial in Riverside Cemetery on Gull Road, and are now working to make it accessible to all. They need the community's help to raise the final funds for this ramp project. Go to their GoFundMe page to donate.
You can also visit
kalamazooveterans.com to order bricks for veterans in your lives that will be inscribed and placed in the Star of Honor of the Memorial. Help honor our veterans who deserve our gratitude.
